Stalin and Hitler also have been argued to be atheists, only one of them were between the two, but both had the ability to convince people to follow them.
Hitler was his own brand of deist/occult/Catholic. Stalin prior to rising had a degree in theology. BOTH have an authoritarian view. Both preyed upon hyper nationalism and populism. The very thing Reagan claimed to be fighting in the cold war, as well intended as he was, was the very domino he set up to allow for the GOP to pander to the worst of the far right.
I would seriously warn you that Trump is not a left or right issue. I have said that consistently. He panders to a very dark past, he panders to the same xenophobia Hitler and Stalin did. He has sold Obama as "other" for 5 years long before he ran. He is not concerned with raising people's income. He will simply do what Bush did, throw a bribe rebate at his supporters as the crumbs they will be and we will continue the global race to more cheap labor and poverty.
You do NOT have to take my word for it. A little economic research on YOUR part will show you that our pay gap is exploding and our 1% has the combined wealth of the majority of the middle class and working poor. What is even worse is that this has gone global in that 62 billionaires worldwide have the combined wealth of 3 billion humans.

But I am telling you in all sincerity with all joking aside, that he has convinced far too many people that all they have to do is continue to be that hamster on the wheel chasing a utopia carrot that does not exist. I really wish my party would be as enthusiastic as they were with Obama, but extend that to our local level and state level and in midterms. Our nation is blue in reality but we have been held hostage by the top and the right for 36 years. We failed to learn our lesson with Gore. BUT it is our fault.
