I don't call myself "abolitionist" because I believe black people shouldn't be slaves.
Because they aren't
The abolitionist movement and the feminist movement have achieved their goals.
They are, everywhere ? In practice?
All of the time?
Do rights not need to be ensured? Maintained?
Btw--Before you determine that you don't call yourself an abolitionist, you may want to look up the definition(s) of the word, and THEN consider the fact that slavery does indeed exist as an institution, in the contemporary world. Have you ever heard of human trafficking, "kid"?
My gawd.
Do women not have rights in the U.S?
If I were in Syria I'd be feminist. Why? Cause this isn't a globalist world, borders exists and conditions too.
When do women not have rights?
Are rights not ensured an maintained?
Slavery exists in that form, but it's illegal. I'm not pro-slavery. But I'm not abolitionist.
It's not really possible that we can get rid of it in that sense achieving a dream land utopia but we still work to get rid of it.
