I watched it..
There is nothing there that suprized me.
But at the same time I took the time to research him and his positions...
Everything he said was on his website. He has not changed anything.
He said that he was not going to start out with a special prosecutor as his primary focus was the list of things (again on the web site) that would be done in the first 100 days of his presidency.
There is a great divide between what trump says he will do and the media's perception of how this will all take place. For instance the wall. Mexico will pay for it. But the narrative or idea the media is pushing is there will be a big check or truck loads of money from mexico all up front. Now I am not saying trump won't use this to his negotiating advantage to back out of any money owed mexico or won't use this to call some other bail out we are doing for them over.. What I am saying is he will more than likly kill two birds with one stone. In that he will renegotiate or repeal the North American Free Trade Agreement/NAFTA as he said he would by putting a tariff tax on all good manufactured in mexico, which will generate revenue (he said something like 35% to Ford) which will close down many plants and drive them back here. That is how mexico will pay for the wall. In tax and lost revenue, not some publishers clearing house check.
Like it or not trump is a smart business man and know how to craft a deal. He is distracting everyone with a crazy proposal while he gets his ducks in a row inorder to take what he really wants. That's how negotiation on this level works.
In the end, We get a wall, "A Yuge Beautiful wall," and Mexico will have ultimately paid for it, even if the government refuses to write a check. Even thought it is not what the people expect... That is what he means about the generals being morons... They put out there what they are going to do and follow everyone's perception on how they are going to do it.
