One of these rare atheist like Ricky Gervais, are reasonable with Christian, and do get along somewhere in middle grounds. I find my own middle ground from both extreme ends of the poles.
Bill Maher has not come out and said he is an atheist. In fact the way he speaks it sounds more like he is a deist or pantheist.
George Carlin, on the other hand, has flat out publicly proclaimed that "there is no God".
Actually..when he goes into his "something is fucked up" skit, it is EXACTLY the philosophy of absurdism. I would claim that Carlin was also an Absurdist as well.

This is EXACTLY what I expect an atheist to sound like. Carlin is an atheist.
