When did it happen? when was it suddenly ok to be a selfish arsehole in the US, to be able to watch the suffering of the world and say "I'm ok you can just suffer". There seems to be a growing demographic over here as well, typified by the UKIP voters. But in America being a selfish arsehole seems to be a brand of pride.
We are in the bad version of the star trek universe and that started with Trump.
