Knowing what they know now about the specific problem you and your baby had, is there anything that can be done preventatively for the next time around? Or is it a 'you just have wait and see' kind of medical issue?
I had symptoms before I missed my period as well. The first time it was the insanely heightened sense of smell, to the point of being almost unbearable. The second time was a sudden, constant need to pee. I think when you're trying to conceive there is a heightened awareness to every little weird thing you feel inside your body!
Unfortunately they were unable to pin point a diagnoses for the baby. But my doctor suspects it was an unknown genetic syndrome of some sort. Too rare to have been picked up by the genetic testing that was done on him.
Since it was probably a gene defect, there's nothing that can be done to prevent it from happening again in the future, and the chance of reoccurrence is unknown.
Jeeze, CL. That's lousy. I'm so sorry that the doctors weren't able to provide you with more answers, and an idea of what the future might hold for you and you husband. You guys have youth on your side though, so that's a good thing.
