Well maybe the DNC should have realized that sooner. The fact that there was a likable candidate in the running at one point just makes the problem all the more obvious, and ruffles people's feathers all the more. Sure it's akin to cutting off your nose to spite your face, but people are really frustrated with the system. If you can't figure out how to beat someone like Trump in a landslide, you don't really deserve to win anyway.
