My point here is not whether Jesus said aught about unseasonable weather, but the danger of end time prophecy is that it allows people to ignore the very real issue of global warming. Why worry about what we’re doing to our planet if this world is not your home. Maybe burning fossil fuel is god’s way of fulfilling prophecy.
God gave the responsibility of taking care of this planet to all of mankind. Christians and all others are to do their best and if one wants to get picky no ones doing all they can.

Let us guess, out of the 7 billion humans, and the 10,000 plus different worldwide sects and all the god claims worldwide since the first writings of humans magically you got the correct one.
Let me clue you in. There is no god telling us to take care of the planet, our human empathy comes from our evolution. It isn't a stretch that if you can look at a clean house, or village even in antiquity, and keep it free from too much pollution, you won't end up with a clogged toilet. The idea of clean and care is an instinct. Even tigers and lions clean themselves and cubs, and have sensitive smell and will avoid water if it smells bad.
Our species wasn't handed anything by a cosmic hero, and we are not the apex of life. There is other life far better suited to survive and far more successful than we think we are. A flock of penguins at the south pole don't need to build shelter, don't wear cloths and can survive up to 30 below zero. The water bear is one of the oldest known microbial creature still alive today. It can survive up to 300 above and 400 below, and has survived all 5 mass extinctions. Not to mention cockroaches and bacteria outnumber humans and have also been around far longer.
Your idea that humans are the center of the planet or the universe for that matter, is merely a reflection of your own narcissism. Self preservation is what evolution does, but our species gap filling leads to very superficial selfish beliefs that we are important as a species. We are and we are not. We are important because we are here now, and by taking care of the planet and each other we can extend our finite ride. But there is no sky hero playing favorites to any form of life not even humans. It is up to humans to find ways to resource manage, reduce conflict and extend our ride. There really is nobody upstairs helping us.
