Agreed, but the "true believers" aren't the ones who decide elections: the middle of the road, moderates do. They went for Trump, largely because he addressed the issues they claim to care about. Coal miners and steel mill workers care about the coal industry. The constant threats of Muslim extremists in the news has people afraid of Muslims. "They took our jobs" has been a steady chant against Mexicans coming across the border for decades. When he isn't able to save manufacturing jobs, when he can't get rid of illegal immigrants, when America still has Muslims in a few years with the media reporting on terrorism from Muslims, those moderates are going to be pissed. If the democrats have enough sense to nominate someone who will appeal to the middle class moderates, they win. Hillary made the mistake of appealing to upper middle class, college kids and their divisive brand of identity politics and it killed her in the end.
