The rest of the films are sometimes watchable.
The problem with the avengers is they all have similar powers and are basically over powered and unstoppable.
The hulk, thor, Iron man and captain america and whoever else is in that team are basically all strong and fast. They dress it up with different story lines, slightly different degrees of power and different reasons behind their powers but they're basically all just strong and fast.
X men is much better because the powers are more imaginative, like telepathy, metal manipulation, speed, fire manipulation and so on.
I'd say roughly 2/3 of the X-Men films are good. X3, The Wolverine and Apocalypse were pretty bad or sub-par. Not holding my breath for Logan to be any good from the look of things. I'm not sorry they're over at Fox, but I do wish they didn't have control over the rights to the Fantastic Four.
I think DC is the franchise that has more problems with overpowered and unstoppable heroes. Both Hulk and Thor have gone up against foes that whupped on them, in Thor's case the only thing that saved him was Loki's sneakiness when he was fighting that Kurse guy in The Dark World. Captain America got shot all to hell in The Winter Soldier and would have died if Bucky didn't fish him out of the water. Iron Man had to be saved by his girlfriend TWICE at the end of two of his three movies. I don't see the comparison with, say, Superman and Wonder Woman.
Yeh I agree with all that. The problem with the wolverine films is that wolverine as a character is a cash cow and the film makers are milking those logan udders dry, I mean until dust comes out.
I thought apocalypse was good but didn't like the finality of the ending.
I do think superheroes became overpowered in general.
I'm sure I remember as a kid that hulk was just a guy who got something like gorilla strength, now he's invincible, can basically fly with his leg strength, he can pretty much over power anyone.
Superman started out as a guy who could just jump high and was pretty strong then became this man who couldn't be destroyed.
I think it would be good if a whole new kind of franchise came out with characters that were killed and died easy and there were no ultra ultra powerful characters. Powerful but just not ridiculously powerful.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
