Remove the god from the equation, eliminate sin. And until the priestly class dishes up a god, they have to prey on the superstitions of those cresulous enough to want to be led by the balls.
Only, it's not a sin to own other human beings as property. So sin as a concept for keeping people on the moral path is not even capable of doing that.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
