I'd be careful talking about 'common sense', it's a bit of a joke, it's basically what people commonly believe is true without reason. Everyone is quick to claim that common sense is on their side, especially for beliefs they feel strongly about, most theists probably think the existence of god is common sense - It's better just to reject the notion outright and focus on reasons for belief.

You're more than a touch hypocritical here Cinjin, I could just as easily ask you "why would he create a universe?" or "why would he create life?". Answer -- He didn't, he doesn't exist.
