I kinda agree with Adrian ... I'd consider teaching them songs with racist undertones and also tell them what they mean, I feel strongly that we shouldn't hide what we are and what we, as a society, did wrong.
It's politically incorrect to criticise religions and aspects of cultures that are, to my mind, self-evidently wrong (like the Islamic treatment of women, arranged marriages and so on) and when schools start going nuts on things like steel drum bands (strange one but there have been times it feels like schools have been trying to push traditional British culture away, could be just media exaggeration though) or perhaps Rastafarian attitudes to women but would I listen to to even teach my kids religious or reggae songs? Sure ... I'd just also tell them about what they mean.
