I would not enjoy sharing time with someone of such values, so why would I waste that time? Like I said over and over again, I don't unfriend people just for thinking differently, but I do have principles. I don't need to be friends with a racist or a bully to hear what they have to say. Some people take the whole concept of being open minded to a whole other level. Fuck being friends with someone who can address making fun of a person with cerebral palsy and think it's acceptable behavior. What part of that is irrational? Have you read the rest of the thread, or did you stop at the OP? If you read the rest and still think I'm making a mistake, then I'll agree to disagree. I don't waste friendships on bullies. I can't work around that.
You wouldn't even know the justifications that someone would have. Because you unfriended that person. So how would you even know that they are justifying racism???? You wouldn't know anything about why people voted for Trump, because that in and of itself is a disqualifier for you. That's why it's closed minded. Yes, I'd be extremely curious how Trump voters justify the racism around his campaign. I'd be extremely curious how they justify the racism and what the other concerns they have that override the negative stuff. I'd be extremely interested to hear their opinion on that. Especially the non racists who voted for Trump. In some counties in the rust belt 40%~ of people who voted for Obama changed their vote to Trump. Are those people racist? If I knew any of them personally, I'd be extremely interested to hear why they voted for Trump. Because I have an open mind and a natural curiosity.
