I have cut out eating sweets for the most part, still snag one here and there very rarely, but usually substitute a banana or apple for cookies, snack cakes, or candy. I need to get more strict with myself about my carb intake, eating a low carb diet now but my weight just keeps fluctuating but not dropping. If I totally eliminated carbs I could probably do it, but that's very hard to do. But at least I'm not putting the weight I lost back on, but I do have a little more flab I can lose.
Well, at least when the weather warms up I can get out and ride my bike more. I have a trainer set up so I can ride it indoors like an exercise bike, but it's just not quite as fun as actually riding outside and going somewhere. I normally ride 10 miles every morning and then do longer trips on the weekends, and this year I hope to do my first century (100 mile ride).
Well done, DT. You lost more than I did. I went from 240 to 215 in the first ten weeks of last year and then stopped doing more than trying to maintain. But in fact I did come down to 205 by the start of this year.
I find keeping the weight off pretty easy but losing is a chore. I'll be happy to hit 170 nekid. I'm at 195 (fully clothed), down 10 pounds over the first four weeks of the class. Unfortunately the class only goes 6 weeks instead of 10 like last year. So if I can continue to lose 2 pounds a week I'm going to need about 12 - 14 more weeks. So maybe by the end of April I can hope to get down to 170. Regardless I'll want to keep a lid on total calories and recreational snacking for as long as it takes. I was 165 in high school and quite slim so maybe 170 isn't realistic. We'll see.
