The " actual point " was about Love Thy Neighbour, which you think failed to make its point. Now I'll agree with you insofaras it wasn't an hilariously funny programme, in fact it was emarrassing at times, but in the context of undermining racism it very much hit the mark. If you remember, it featured a very unusual, possibly first-ever sitcom where an articulate and attractive black couple were contrasted with a slobbish white couple who thought they were superior merely by virtue of their colour. ( more so the male than the woman, to be fair ). The male character was all that was bad about British working-class racism of the times.
