They also put in the AV fistula yesterday for future use. It hurts so goddamn bad. They gave me Hydrocone-acetaminophen and it hasn't done shit for me at the "proper" dose. I've never had opioids but my past doesn't really make me confident in my ability to ration these things.
Well, the AV sucks but for long term it's necessary. Did they give you any physical treatment options for the pain (ie ice/heat/pressure)? I seriously doubt they gave you enough hydrocodone to get addicted, especially with the new CDC guidelines on opiates. If your concerned about the addiction potential ask about Tramadol. Has a lower addiction profile. May not be an option depending on your other comorbidities.
