As Thump suggested, next time I'll save it to a resource elsewhere than the original post (which was, in this case, Deviantart).

I would advise to also look at any copyright restrictions the artist has put on the image before doing that, just FYI.

In the instance of the old avatar, I couldn't see any copyright restrictions.

I'll be checking before I choose a new avatar.
