The reason is this:
we can't solve our own problems, we can't make them solve our problems for us, so we can only wax indignant about why they try to do their own thing, and not feel guilty about what we want them to feel guilty about in such a way that they will solve for us the problems we can't solve ourselves.
Please note while most people have goodness, appealing to other people's goodness as the main way to solve your own major problems is probably a loser. If you don't know this, you will probably never solve your own bigger problems.
