Breaking News: US Missile Strikes Against Military Targets Inside Syria

Watching the news on television. The United States has just launched targeted Tomahawk missile strikes against some military sites inside Syria in response to Assad's Sarin gas attack on his own people. Seems that Putin may not have been notified since Russians mans some of Syria's missile systems. News is still breaking.  Couldn't  get a link posted from this phone.

Twas one target, Russia was notified so any serious Assad materiel would have been moved. There was no strategy, just Drumpfuck throwing miseiles around in the hopes of shoring up his numbers and ditracting people from the fact that he's committing treason on a daily basis.

The worrying thing is that there are Dems around who haven't learned from Iraq and are willing to support him in his illegal and immoral military action.

I can rule out right now regime change is the goal.

Trying to shore up Drumpf's numbers by painting him as a "war president" (he is neither) in order to prevent regime change.

Why on earth would Asad have ordered a gas attack now? 
Why on earth would Putin allow Asad to use gas now?

Around 400,000 have been killed so far conventionally and suddenly they decide to kill 100+ civilians with gas?

Ok, even if they absolutely did decide to use gas, does it really matter? Let's say we suddenly find out it wasn't gas after all. Is our position "Sorry, we thought you had done something wrong when you killed those kids. Carry on."

To destroy any future base for rebellion by killing off the people in rebel held rovinces and towns. It's a favourie Assad tactic, and has been effective in the past. In 1982 the Muslim Brotherhood tried to stage an uprising in the city of Hama. After it was put down a significant portion of the population was murdered. The result is that Hama is currently one of the most pro-Assad areas in the country.
