AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-April 1 to May 1

The fertility diet is basically a super healthy diet that puts your body in optimum condition for getting pregnant and having a healthy baby. It's very similar to the caveman diet. Basically you try to eat only whole foods, and avoid/minimize gluten, processed foods, and added sugars of any kind. Stick to vegetables and fruits, lots of healthy fats and animal proteins, and lots of nutrients, with a special emphasis on antioxidants and anti inflammatory foods. Preferably all organic to avoid the added hormones in meats, pesticides in produce, and GMO's. Lots and lots of purified water, at least 10 cups a day... though I do more like 12.

To fill in the gaps and make sure that I am built up as much as possible, I also take 3 different supplements: a whole foods prenatal vitamin, 200mg of ubiquinol, and DHA/EPA.

As for exercise, it has to be very light so you don't stress your body, but enough to promote good circulation. Hence, I go on 2 mile walks every day.

If anyone else is trying to get pregnant/planning on getting pregnant, it's good to start this diet at least 3 months before conception to get the full benefits for your baby when you do conceive. And if you aren't trying to get pregnant, I would recommend this type of diet anyway, as it is a super healthy and relatively easy diet to follow. My weight loss diets from the past have always made me feel tired, worn out, and cranky. With this diet, I have never had so much energy in my life. My mood is better and my weight is staying down. Highly recommend it!

Another great thing about this diet that I forgot to mention is that the point of it is to get all the nutrients you need (in a healthy way). So since you're giving your body all it needs, it GREATLY reduces cravings for the unhealthy stuff we all love sooo much. I never feel hungry and my chocolate addiction is now very manageable.

Not to start anything crazy, but why do you avoid GMOs and then take supplements?
Some GMOs are made so that they provide more nutrients than the "organic" variety, you know?
However, most research goes into increased yield and pest resistance.

It's great to hear that you're getting back into baby making mode! Smile Best of luck!!
