The "whole idea" was to hurt ISIS. There may be a side benefit to that of "don't fuck around with us", but we just get more haters in the process, so that's not necessarily a positive. 

But if you mean Lord Orange Marmalade is nobody to fuck around with I would suggest a survey of opinions outside the US, where he's viewed as the most dangerous man in the world right now by a fair number of serious observers.
