Calling some of them dumb as bricks would be an insult to bricks. Those attended his rallies in droves and can be counted on for sound bites on how they want to get to the bottom of Obama's negligence in the Hurricane Katrina debacle, saying how women deserve respect while wearing a 'Trump that bitch' t-shirt, or getting bussed in for a demonstration where they accuse the other side of getting bussed in. However, half of Americans are below average by definition and the rallies and protests were clearly precision-targeted at the lowest common denominator.
However: The median income of Trump voters was higher than the national average. Trump won a large share of college educated voters in New Hampshire and Nevada. Like any other large group, Trump voters were a spectrum.
I suspect that a profile of those who continue to support him now that he's demonstrated what kind of leader he is would be much less flattering.
