Quote:Hypnagogic hallucinations can occur at the onset of sleep, either by day or at night. They are usually quite vivid and visual.
Visual hallucinations usually consist of simple forms such as coloured circles or parts of objects that may be constant or changing in size. A formed image of an animal or a person may appear and it is often in colour.

I have personally experienced many such hallucinations. I've spoken about the most striking one before. I had turned in for the night while Sam was visiting Shell three floors above. I wasn't even dozing off when I distinctly heard Sam's voice outside the bedroom, calling for me weakly and then groaning. I immediately jumped up and threw open the door but there was nobody there. I even opened the front door and checked the landing and stairwell. Some time later, she came trotting down the stairs happy as anything.
I knew about hypnagogia so I immediately recognised it, but it's still a remarkably convincing experience.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
