Ramadan has come.

RE: Ramadan has come.

Thank you; chimp3.

Fasting also includes preventing harmful acts like cussing and inflicting physical harm, so I guess I'll stick to praising God and trying to understand him more.
Thank you; LastPoet.

Aroura

Wishing you the same, hoping you feel the month's aura.
Thank you; Aroura.

J A C K

I will; J ^_^
Thank you.

Personally; I think feeding poor people is the solution in that case:

Quote:Sura 2, Page 28, The Quran:
( 184 )   [Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

Minimalist

Totally.

mh.brewer

Hunger and thirst make it easy to understand charity and feeding others, it helps with understanding why these exist, and the nature of a God that orders his followers to carry out such things.

Then when one pray and he/she is hungry and thirsty, they will recall what every verse is all about. It's different than having a full belly and reading about the feeding of poor people. And when the time of eating comes; it will be very appreciated; God create food.

Jesster

Thank you; Jesster.

Aoi Magi

It has health risks but also benefits, but I can't understand why you're strictly against it. After all, there's the charity work instead of the fasting in cases of inability.
Thank you; Magi.

I didn't hear about the causing of disabilities due to fasting. That's just beyond painful.
Pregnancy means that a mother has two souls to care about; not just one. If fasting hurts the fetus, causing disabilities to the unborn child, then she should never fast during pregnancy.

Lutrinae

All the life of a Muslim should be in the help of others.
Fasting is more about learning about the life of the poor.

Working on personal psychology and understanding the reality of things, boost up the whole performance in other duties.

Many go to jobs during the day. You won't be smelling tobacco at least.
But yeah; the night is usually when the whole experience of the day is demolished.

vorlon13

God is merciful.

Minimalist

I think missionaries didn't put a lot of effort in that part.

Using missiles and fancy bombs is just like suicide bombing and using nail bombs.
The killing is the same. The destructive result is the same. Death and misery are the same.

succubus

As Sura 2, Page 28, The Quran said, The feeding poor people and doing charity would substitute for the hardship in fasting.

BrianSoddingBoru4

It's a good thing to show support for the poor on the personal level, by going through what they go through willfully.

volron13

As Sura 2, Page 28, The Quran said, The feeding poor people and doing charity would substitute for the hardship in fasting.
God knows.

Industrial Lad

Thank you; Industrial Lad Smile

It's a matter of trust; really.
Just like the famous pork example: pork is not good for health, and it's forbidden.
Eating dead animals is also forbidden.

In other words; Islam is a system that works for health. A lifestyle that is trusted.

BrianSoddingBoru4

No. That's why we have brains and tasting abilities:

Quote:Sura 36, Page 442, The Quran:

( 34 )   And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs -
( 35 )   That they may eat of His fruit. And what their hands produced, so will they not be grateful?

Brian37

The feeling of hunger and thirst; though.
I believe that one big portion the problem of poverty, is that the wealthy seem like the never care, never thought about how it would feel to be poor.
