Myself, I have mental illness that is resistant to treatment. The meds cause weight gain, and for some people, cause massive weight gain. I've been on some of the worst anti psychotics there are. Clozapine was the worst. Now I'm on different stuff. The Rexulti doesn't cause much weight gain but the Zyprexa is supposed to be almost as bad as the Clozapine, but I'm on a low dose.
I've lost roughly 30 pounds in 2-3 years. I'm still very overweight and don't like what I see in the mirror, except maybe the way my face looks when I let my hair grow out.
I don't eat a whole lot of chips, and I rarely eat candy. Ice cream I almost never eat. My meals aren't always perfect, but I also deal with Celiac disease so I have some restrictions on what I can eat.
Since I'm on a semi-tight food budget, I can't always afford to make meals from scratch vs getting something cheap that's frozen. Overall I'd say my diet is probably better than many people that are much smaller than me.
