Actually, I like birds. I'm really close with a forum member, Tartarus Sauce, and he likes kittens. So I guess I like kittens by a sort of associative property.  Does that count?

Okay, do you keep any pet birds?  I used to keep finches and I had Mesias and Peking Robins at one point.  

Now I wish you all would post more about yourselves.  That way I'd know just who to start stalking you better.  We have a custom of offering new arrivals tea and biscuits but here are a couple pix of my old birds.

This was the first aviary I built.



This was the male Mesia, quite the looker.



And this is a weaver family, the make Mesia and either his mate or a Pekin Robin. (Not the best photo.)



But all of my aviaries are out of commission now and instead I make a garden so that the wild birds in the area can keep me company and get born or die on their own schedule with no help from me. I've kept this one outdoor flight intact to keep vermin off my outside bed. There used to be another longer flight next to it where I built a concrete wall with planing pockets which you might be able to see in this photo. I got rid of the wire and opened that up to improve the flow around the garden

Yeah, AF seems to have a reputation for having community games. That was a draw for me to come check things out on this forum.

I’m not really sure what my expectations for conversation are over here. I’ve gotten into the existential stuff over on TTA and it was really well received. When I converse on these subjects, it’s always just to talk, share and inform people about what my religious position is, but I’m never trying to convince anyone.

Besides, we may not have the right stuff for Judaism. I'm always the last one chosen.

I don’t feel compelled or inclined to try to prove my ideas to the satisfaction of others, especially when I’m just trying to have a casual conversation. Most folks over at TTA have had no problem listening, engaging, and respectfully disagreeing. …But sometimes I meet atheists who are not just anti-theists, but they’re also downright hostile and rude to theists, purely because we don’t see things the same way as them. Comically, they’re like the inverse opposite of fundamentalist religious people in that they feel compelled to pound their ideas into the heads of others and they become belligerent when they discover that they can’t cram a square peg into a round hole. If I encounter more of the latter here at AF, I’ll stick to just having fun, light conversation, but if I find more of the former, I’ll be happy to get into the deeper stuff.

I've enjoyed one nice, deep conversation with you over at TA. I don't like to force it, but I'll welcome it if it comes up again. I'm of the opinion that religion isn't going anywhere. Nor do I feel it necessarily should (though I hear an atheist gets his wings every time someone joins us). So ecumenism is important to me too. Even if I don't have a dog in the religion fight, I still have a stake in how we make this whole thing work for everybody - both god's chosen and the clear thinking people.
