Hitler, like trump, appealed to a disaffected and stagnant class of majority citizens, blaming other ethnic groups and nations for their problems. Problems that only his personal experience, his struggle, could solve. He, like trump, was paired up with an establishment stalwart as a moderating influence, after campaigning on a brand of authoritarian ethnic nationalism that his base was traditionally amenable to in the first place.
