I'm an atheist - meaning that I believe that God does not exist. But I also believe that God is logically necessary. So I can actually say that I am an atheist who believes in God. This isn't purely semantics-- it's theology.
There are many philosophers, like notably Wittgenstein, who believe that there are no theological truths. I think there ARE theological truths, though they are very few in number. I explain all this in my book "The Reverent Atheist", which is available on Amazon.
An atheist who believes in god is not an atheist.
That's like saying I'm an intelligent trump voter, the two are mutually exclusive.
