Of course it doesn't make it true but eh, what about all the knowledge that we have about the characters
that lived in the past?

Beside is more likely that a crowd of people that say the same thing is more reliable then a single person like in your example.
Why atheists deny Jesus miracles and not whether or not Julius Caesar and all the rest did what is written in the books of history?
