Except the tendency towards schisms.  I don't think there is any other faith so prone to mutations and metastasis.

It seems like it. I don't know how many other sects Islam has apart from Sunni, Shia and Amahdi. I listened to most ofan audiobook that was supposed to be about Islam but it seemed to spend more time talking about terrorism and how bad Islam is than getting down to the nitty gritty of what they believe and the different sects.
