It seems amusing they don't hold this relationship to be a two-way street; we're the ones who have to put in 100% of the effort and it's up to this god's subjective opinion (which, oh, what a coinkydink, happens to conform with exactly whoever's describing him believes) whether that effort is good enough, without ever giving us a nibble of a hint as to just the right way to do it. I mean, that's an indefensible position and they'll still try to bullshit their way through it! I'm long past being able to play devil's advocate on their behalf, but does anyone want to take a critical thinking stance on how that might be defended just for shits and giggles?
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
