Inkfeather132 quote- Ephesians 6:5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ
-----------------------------------------------------
Firstly, the word 'servant' translated from Greek is 'doulos' and can mean either a slave, servant, or bond-servant (similar to indentured servant).
Secondly, Paul listed slave-traders among bad hombres-
"..law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers......for slave traders....." (1 Tim 1:9)
And Moses bust an Egyptian slave-drivers ass- "He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand" (Exodus 2:11)
TheBeardedDude quote- Telling people that they should be more committed to a cult leader than their own personal identity isn't progressive or forward-thinking
----------------------------------------------------------------
Paul was quite clear that people should follow Jesus and not him, which speaks volumes for Paul's decency and credibility..
