So is "being a xtian" just an act?
@Godscreated
"If you'd only" is the same line given by every sect of every religion worldwide.
"If you were only a Sunni"
"If you were only a Shiite"
"If you were only a Tibet Buddhist"
"If you were only a Chinese Buddhist"
"If you were only Shinto Buddhist"
"If you were only a Mormon"
"If you were only a Obama voting Baptist"
"If you were only a Trump voting Baptist"
"If you were only conservative Jew"
"If you were only a liberal Jew"
"If you were only a Rasta"
"If you were only a Hindu"
"Your not doing it right. You picked the wrong sect. You are not interpreting the holy writing correctly."
Most humans get sold the religion of their parents long before they can develop adult critical thinking skills. Most humans fail to consider that our species ability to be compassionate or cruel are not in a label, not in following a holy person, not in old mythology, but in our genes, in our evolution. Every nation worldwide has hospitals and prisons. And our species long before any written religion, or nation, was evolving through the same acts of compassion and cruelty.
If a religion were required for life to exist, then why are humans the only life on the planet that concocts those things? How is it other life, like ants, and elephants evolved to cooperate without worship?
If someone hurts another human being for selfish non self defense reasons, that cruelty isn't the result of evil spirits or a super villain with a pitchfork, it is solely that individual's mental state and or economic state leading them to do harm to others. There is no magic needed to explain why humans do either good or bad.
