You'll just get a blue screen however there is a way ... I've never tried it but if you use Acronis to image the disk you can (apparently) set it to remove drivers. That means that in principle when you image the new disk/system it will simply re-detect the hardware and hopefully should work.
I've seen it on some magazine PC's and I have a copy of it but obviously it would be illegal to supply you with it
That said I would absolutely advise rebuilding ... it may not be as big an issue these days but you end up with a nice clean build with no legacy issues. Also, anything touched by an AMD is sure to be cursed so you really want to avoid infection
