I have a similar story.
Just before I was married I lived in a small house in a downtown area. It was a older neighborhood, houses real close together, small yards right on the street. One Sunday afternoon I had just gotten back from fishing and I was flaying the fish on the bow of my boat. The boat was in the driveway. A fat guy wearing a yellow button down shirt, bow tie and suspenders and a teenage girl wearing a flowered Mennonite type dress walked up to me.
He asked my if I had heard the good news about Jesus Christ. I cracked a beer and said that I had not but I was certain he would tell me. Then I went about cleaning the fish. When I cracked open the second beer a few min later he asked me to please not drink alcohol in front of his daughter. I then told him he was free to leave at anytime. Then he started praying for me and asking Jesus to forgive my sins.
Eventually I went inside, making it clear they were not welcome. They left a few creationist pamphlets on the porch, mainly they attempted to discount radio carbon dating.
weird
