They apparently have doubts that Trump can be reelected. Few people probably believe that he'll actually get a second term, and they also have to know about the progressive movement going on. They don't want Bernie 2020, or anyone like Bernie 2020, so they just want to keep elections from happening at all.
One has to wonder if his approval rating, currently sitting at 39%, is this damn low - where is the fucking push back from the American people to get him out of office? Why is it that 8 months in and we are no closer to getting him out than we were two months in.
The people started a revolution over tea, yet we continue to allow this asshole and other elected officials to keep ruining our country.
Impeachment doesn't happen overnight. Investigations have to take place which Mueller is already doing and even a grand jury. And even if 45 himself does not get booted, it is a very safe bet with all the shit during his run and those in close circle this will be on par with Nixon as far as getting some convictions. That alone, will damage 45 with swing voters.
But I also would not be surprised if 45 has real dirt on him the way he has behaved in his run and now while in office. If he were a murder suspect with the way he behaves any good detective would not take long to zero in on him.
It will take some time. It took time for Nixon too. Patience and persistence.
