Quote:Two passenger trains have collided in northern Egypt, killing at least 36 people and injuring dozens more, health officials say.
One train was travelling from Cairo and the other from Port Said when they hit head-on in the northern coastal city of Alexandria, local media report.
Emergency teams are at the scene. It is not yet known what caused the two trains to collide.
Two trains were on the same track at the same time heading towards each other. It would have been a mystery if they had missed each other.
I get what you are saying, it sounds silly on the surface but it is a little more complicated than DUH.
Schedules are made long before the trains leave, miscommunication on the routs may have caused the operators to use track switches not knowing those lanes would cause them to be on the same track. Not to mention it takes a fuckload of distance for trains to slow down.
But yea, the paragraph does make it sound like a no brainer.
Miscommunication on the routs. Alot like that pilot almost landing on the planes a while ago mistaking the taxi lane for the actual runway.
I always find it funny on detective stories or news stories when the narrator or reporter says, "The murder victim was shot dead."
NO FUCKING WAY, I was going to think they were shot back to life if you had not said that.
