Who gives a flying fuck what it meant to the Bolsheviks? Frankly, the Russian peasantry had a damn good reason to despise the church. They were hand in hand with the Tzar fucking them over.
Who gives a fuck what it meant to the Bolsheviks?! Maybe the 80 to 100 million people who met untimely deaths at the hands of the Russian communists. I don't know what that number was just before WW II. But the number must have been staggering. As Solzhenitsyn said, the greatest genocide in human history. History has SHOWN that the church or the Tzar were cupcakes compared to them. I will also include a picture of some people who cared. It's too bad you weren't one of them. Because then maybe you would understand.

I told you and showed you what being 'atheist" meant to the Bolsheviks. It was somewhere between shit and nothing. That approach didn't go away. And because Hitler lost, it was reinforced. Also, if I tightened the focus any more, I would probably get banned.
Why should we care about what it meant to the Bolsheviks? That's history, we're not living in Russia, their opinions mean nothing to my daily life.
Why should you care? Because it has been said that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. But the bad thing is, I doubt very much if you even know the REAL history. And not even knowing it to begin with makes it even more likely to repeat itself. Maybe I will tell you it. But I will probably get banned for doing so.
