So those kids in your little cartoon are simply an example of generational stupidity. Because crabs can be kept alive in that bucket, if only someone stops doing what they've always done so as to get the dead crab result they've always gotten. Add seawater and aerate. The crabs die because they suffocate, because they're crabs outside of their element in the custody of folks who don't have the knowledge as to how to keep them alive and thriving. Maybe if those kids learn that, the crabs will stand a better chance next summer.
