He said the reason why you're seeing so many "more" cases of autism is because they have now classified far more varied degrees of autism than have ever existed prior. Add to that - that there are simply more people in the world and that too brings the numbers of the disease and sickly up in general. Add to that the small percent of hippie naturalist nut-jobs spreading rumors and lies to promote their own varied agendas and ---- Voila! Instant scapegoat and national panic. All of it bogus.
Apparently, there's some real idiots in Washington leading parents astray and promoting dangerous stupidity.
Research people! Medical science is not the enemy.
This is one of those cases that the only difference now its that we know more. It reminds me of a similar situation, e.g. those people always bitching "The world is going to an end. look at the increase of children abuses!", child abuse always existed, perhaps even more before, but the lack of information, the 'shame' of reporting it, prevented alot of them from being known by the general public. People just love to find correlations and equating them to causations.
