Like you, we have a pile of cats (5) so we need a feeding trough. That water bowl holds 2.5 gallons of water. It lasts almost two weeks. The cake pan/food dish, when full, lasts four days.

Oh, I should point out that Dill, the asshole "kitten", keeps moving the water bowl away from the wall - when it's full. It's a very heavy thing so I can't for the life of me understand how he does it. I bought that black rubbery shelf liner and taped it to the floor in the hopes he wouldn't be able to move it anymore and he still manages to do it.
