Among other problems, vacations and trips are not transferrable, if you can't go, no one goes and the prize is forfeited.
If you win a car, you have to pay tax and license before it will be released to you, if you've won a pricey car and didn't also win some money, you might have a problem.
If you win something you can't use, like a boat, you're responsible for the taxes on it (it's value is treated as income). If you win a $50,000 boat, and in your bracket the tax bump is $17,000, and you sell if for $15,000, 'winning' cost you $2000.
IIRC, if you're from out of state, getting your prize shipped home is your problem.
There's more, I can't remember it all. It's always best to win cash money on that show, but it sure is possible to win a big problem too.
Yea, I've known that for years. If you cant take it off the lot that day, they wont compensate you. That is what makes winning cash far better on the show.
