I posed a question for these flag loving Trumpsters and they did not like it

It's a little weird when anyone complains about a form of peaceful protest. There are generally two kinds of protests. Peaceful ones, and riots. Nobody likes riots, and if you criticize people for doing it peacefully, then what do you expect them to do. Well, honestly, hey kind of expect people to just shut up and take it, but that's not very forward thinking.

The national anthem/flag have a lot of symbolism built into them for a lot of people.  That's been the case for centuries across the globe.  

People are confused at the hubbub, because for a lot of us, we just don't care.  I don't give a shit about the anthems. But all you have to do, is imagine something symbolically important to you, and then imagine someone used that occasion to stage a protest. 

If someone's kid died, and during the mother's eulogy, you took a knee for climate change awareness, you'd be an asshole.   That's an extreme example, but the national anthem/flag through a combination of sincere personal experience on top of centuries of tradition and a lifetime of indoctrination is going to get backlash even if the protest is legit.  (I thought Kap's was very justified.  I think this weekends events are mostly bullshit).

We don't stand at a funeral to swear an oath of loyalty to mothers, though. We've fought against many things that have centuries of indoctrination. Fealty to a country is a bit outdated.
