You're right, I didn't have a point. I just wanted to share an interesting article rather than start a debate. Maybe it would have been nice to discuss the necessary and sufficient conditions for consciousness suggested by the article or the medical ethics of terminating people with severely compromised brains.

Don't deflect. "Fine, whatever" was the point you thought you had, when it wasn't.

"Fine," as in, fine, you've made your nitpick. "Whatever," as in I don't care because the topic of the article is more interesting than whether I got some detail or definition wrong in the thread title.

If you personally want to stick to your guns, then so be it. I cannot have a rational discussion regarding the article if you cannot admit that you were wrong about comparing being "brain dead" to a "vegetative state".
