The concept of phone is that sound waves can be transferred over a physical medium, with mobiles we knew it can be transferred through thin air, with computers we combined the previous two; and were even able to add a live broadcast.
If humans can do this with these limited resources, why won't a God be able to listen to the sound waves I make; transferred through everything in between as a medium of movement?
Because that's not how long-range communication works. Besides which you're trying to rationalise talking to an imaginary friend in physical terms, which is just silly because at some point you're going to have to invoke pretend magic anyway. Plus there's no god at the other end anyway. You're all chanting to a floor, a ceiling or a wall and pretending it's some deep mystical communion. Yet you're the ones that worship architecture.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
