Hammy got it right.
I don't think he was thinking about Deedee while he was going at it, but being in a familiar position doing something familiar would fit in with his personality.
As for men with a 'past' that I've dated, just the ones I know about:
D, married with an infant son, both died in car wreck ~ a year before we started dating
S, I don't think he had been conjugal with a woman before me, afterwards he was married (and divorced, no surprise there) twice and fathered a daughter who would be in her 30s now
R, married/divorced, no custody I'm aware of with daughter who would mid 40s today
J, noted above, married/divorced, every other weekend had daughter (no dating for me then) daughter would be early/mid 40s now
A, dear friend no dating, had 3 kids by wife, he died mid 90s, kids would be early 50s to maybe mid 60s now
D, briefly engaged after high school, he died in '87. She should be greatly relieved they never married
quite a few more at lesser levels of intensity of acquaintance
And Lordy! Gay 12 Steppers, I bet 1/4 to a 1/3 of attendees have been (or are) married to women, and/or fathered children. Astonishing how often we get a topic or discussion input that reflects married/kids background.
In the hospice group I volunteered for, I helped a divorced woman with a son (12 at the time, now late 30s) and one I helped briefly was married/divorced with 'several' kids. They were all at funeral service, I didn't interact with them, there was nothing I could have told them they would have been remotely interested in hearing.
I also met a gay father with a gay son (son subsequently passed away from AIDS), no idea what wife/mom thought of situations and I probably don't want to know . . . .
So I know quite a few well versed in the missionary position

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
