It's impossible to say, really. Here in this thread we have the luxury of mulling over our potential decision. But in a real life scenario like the one that you give, we would only have seconds or less to "decide". I've been blind-sided by circumstances and had to decide quickly what to do - and then thought later with the benefit of hindsight about how I might have handled things differently.
And what of other real-life variables? Who else is in my vehicle? My kid? Would I kill myself and my kid for someone else's kid? Is killing my kid to save someone else's really altruistic?
