As flawed as we are, humans generally still have an inherent desire for goodness I think. At least I do, but I think the same can be said about most people.
Well then why the devotion to god? By any standard what is attributed to him shows a being of pure evil, condemning the whole of humanity for Eve acting exactly as he set her up to do, and getting worse from there.
Your actual position on yhwh belies the words you say about kali. You would no more accept her as god than you do now.
Unless a discussion is started from a point where all parties agree to have started from a point of truth that was mutually agreed upon, there is no point in further exchange.
What is devotion?
It's so obvious - what really is happening makes one puke.
Lets take an example.
Lets say somebody goes to the GYM in the name of GOD, and another guy goes to the GYM in the name of another GOD and so on.
They will be rewarded according to their deeds.
Religion is meant to be an agregate of truthful information. Swimming is good, running is good too.
The definition of who we are is homo sapiens sapiens. Unless You keep constant watch over Your deeds and thoughts You made a step back to homo sapiens - congratulations on that.
The exertion that is put into this "watching" this is the strength of Your devotion to whatever You believe in.
Jesus said love God with all Your heart, mind soul etc. If You were to use Your body all the time to the max. You'd be ripped as hell. The same goes for spirit. Jesus did not really give a definition for God, because with training the perceptual apparatus changes too and hence any definition is unnecessary, You see more and more with every step. Your spirit becomes ripped as an angels.
