Even if they weren't real emotions, I still wouldn't be surprised if people were deluded into thinking they were real value judgments due to, again, their biology and survival instincts deluding them. Such deluding mechanisms serve a benefit to aid our survival. Many people have these delusional mechanisms such as religious believers while others, such as atheists, are beyond them and can see the truth that gods such as Thor are nonsense.
